Privacy Policy

This policy covers GradeItRight (gradeitright.com) and the GradeItRight Sync Chrome extension (together, the "Service"). It explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

Information we collect

• Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, and profile photo from Google via Supabase Authentication. If you sign up with a password instead, we store your email and an encrypted password hash.
• Grade data — classes, categories, assignments, scores, and target grades you enter manually, or that the Chrome extension syncs on your behalf from Infinite Campus. We use this data solely to calculate grades and show you what you need to hit your target.
• Authentication tokens — the Chrome extension copies your GradeItRight session token into the browser's local extension storage so it can call our sync API on your behalf. This token never leaves your browser except in requests to gradeitright.com, and is never sent to Infinite Campus or any other site.
• Billing information — if you upgrade to a paid plan, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we only receive your subscription status (active, canceled, etc.) from Stripe so we can enable premium features.

How the Chrome extension works

The extension only runs on Infinite Campus gradebook pages and gradeitright.com. On an Infinite Campus page, it reads the grade data already visible in your own gradebook and, only when you click "Sync Now", sends it to your GradeItRight account. It does not run in the background, does not track your browsing, and does not collect data from any other site.

How we use your information

We use your data to operate the Service: authenticating you, calculating and displaying your grades, syncing grades from Infinite Campus when you request it, and managing your subscription. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers to run GradeItRight, each of whom only receives the data needed to perform their function: Supabase (database and authentication), Google (sign-in), Stripe (billing), and Vercel (hosting). We do not share your data with anyone else.

Data security

Your data is stored in a Postgres database with row-level security enabled, meaning the database itself enforces that you can only ever read or write your own records. All traffic between your browser, the extension, and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your grade data at any time from your dashboard, uninstall the Chrome extension at any time to stop syncing, and cancel a paid subscription from the billing settings page. To delete your account entirely, contact us at [email protected].

Children's privacy

GradeItRight is intended for middle school, high school, and college students. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without a parent or guardian's consent, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
